Are waves included in the Coastal Flood Boundaries?
Created: 03 October 2019 Updated: 03 October 2019
Impacts due to wave action, such as wave setup, run-up or wave overtopping are not included in the Coastal Flood Boundaries (CFB) dataset and would need to be considered in addition to extreme sea level risk where waves produce flood or erosion risk. Wave and overtopping data may be included from other sources such as State of the Nation (England only). Contact your national authority’s modelling teams for more information.
Extreme swell wave conditions were supplied for CFB 2011 but were not updated for CFB 2018.
